The article is devoted to compare the properties of Ni in both micro- and nanostructures. The paper studied the mechanical properties of Ni in micro- and nanostructures. It is shown that Ni is close to ordinary metal’s largest Fermi energy and the properties of Ni in micro- and nanostructures are substantially different. When you consider the size of the nanostructure of Ni (70 nm), the main influence on the change of properties of Ni has the classic size effect. These results were confirmed by comparing the size of the Ni powder with the de Broglie wavelength of an electron in a nanostructure Ni. The physical reasons for the changes in the properties of the nanostructure of nickel as well as the methods of preparation and use of nanonikel are shown in the article.
